Orion GoScope III 70mm Refractor Sun and Moon Kit - Beginner Telescope

The Orion GoScope III 70mm Sun and Moon Telescope Kit is a versatile telescope designed to pack up and go whenever you hit the road, the trail, or the air. It excels for daytime birding, nature study, and scenic long-distance viewing, and will take you way beyond the Earth's horizon after sunset for some casual nighttime stargazing and Moon-watching.

The telescope features a 70mm-aperture achromatic lens system that provides high-resolution images of distant subjects. It sets up in seconds on the retractable aluminum tripod, which includes a three-way pan head for smooth and easy pointing. The compact tripod can be adjusted to hold the GoScope III refractor optical tube as low as 17.75" or up to a 43.5" maximum height when the legs are fully extended. Taller stargazers can easily place the lightweight GoScope III on a table or other raised surface for comfortable use.

The GoScope III refractor comes standard with a correct-image prism diagonal, 20mm and 9mm Kellner eyepieces (1.25"), MoonMap 260, and a 5x24 finder scope. This kit also includes a sun and moon filter for exploration of our celestial neighbors. It's a complete observational system that tucks away neatly in the included backpack, making it a perfect grab-and-go option for beginning stargazers and families on the move.

Attach the included Film Solar Filter to safely view the sun. This solar filter is designed and manufactured in the USA. The 400mm focal length telescope (f/5.7) excels at daytime birding use as well as viewing wildlife, scenery, and casual nighttime observing of the Moon and bright planets.

The included 5x24 finder scope makes it easy to aim the telescope, while the two anti-reflection coated 1.25" Kellner telescope eyepieces (20mm and 9mm) provide 20-power and 44-power views right out of the box. The Orion MoonMap 260 is also included to help you learn about the cool lunar features you see.
